PROPERTIES AND USES: Hardening of the arteries, high blood pressure, expels fluid from and or around the heart, venereal disease problems, warts.

 

COMMON NAMES: Butterfly Weed, Wind Root, Asclepias,Tuber Root, White Root, Flux Root, Orange Swallow Wort, Silkweed , Canada Root.  

PARTS USED: Root.

BODILY INFLUENCES: (Orange flowered Butterfly Plant) Venereal disease, reduce high blood pressure, give in cases of weak heartbeat, correct hardening of the arteries, restore circulation, reduce cardiac edema (fluid retention due to heart malfunction); 80 to 90 drops after meals. Removes warts (not moles). Apply three to four times per day. Poison antidote - give 40 to 80 drops and repeat, as needed, if symptoms do not subside. Revered, as its name directly indicates, for chest infections, painful breathing, excess mucus and fluid accumulation in the lungs. Not a stimulant. Also, "the child's remedy" for chest and abdominal complaints, burning fevers, diarrhea; apply to temples, forehead, spine, chest and abdomen. Repeat as needed. Pleurisy Root is gentle acting and thorough. Promotes perspiration of poisons. Wrap up warm to assist this action.

DOSAGE: For children and little ones, one to 10 drops every one to two hours, while awake, on the tongue and or applied in sufficient quantity to cover chest and back. Keep wrapped and warm and then sweat it out. If the child is restless, then also give one to 20 drops of Scullcap on the tongue according to age and need, every one to two hours. Adults: For circulatory problems, 40 to 80 drops after meals and, additionally, when short of breath. If congestion, 40 drops on or under the tongue every hour and rub in quantity necessary, to chest and back every hour, while awake. Wrap up warm and sweat it out. If restless, 20 to 40 drops also of Scullcap every hour, while awake. For regular daily use, 10 to 40 drops after meals.

COMMON NAMES: Garden Sunflower, Common Sunflower, Comb Flower, Wild Sunflower, English Mosa (Prepared Pith).

PARTS USED: Seed.

BODILY INFLUENCES: In all the vegetable Kingdom, the seeds of the Sunflower stand out as the only readily reliable and available vegetable source of non-harmful Vitamin D. Sunflowers stand tall, with their heads following the path of the sun across the sky each day, as they manufacture their oils and Vitamin D with sun energy. They perform wonderfully as solar collectors and, moreover, as a source of buoyant cheerfulness. It is doubtful that anyone can stand viewing a field of sunflowers in full bloom (the flowers all face the same direction and look like they were all planted to face in the same direction) and remain depressed for very long. We know, for bones to develop properly and be maintained properly throughout adulthood, Vitamin D is a necessity. Vitamin D, working with the glands at the base of the neck and above the chest, known as the parathyroids, holds the mineral calcium in the right places in the body. This provides for steady nerves, strong healthy bones - at any age, healthy skin, proper clotting of blood and a regular heartbeat, as well as preventing muscular cramping and cold sweats. Natural Vitamin D does not dissolve in water. It forms from oil and dissolves in oil. The absorption of Vitamin D from Sunflower seeds is assisted by their own content of light natural oils in which the Vitamin D is formed. With these books, you now have the information to solve just about any physical problem you may encounter. There are not 30,000 "dis-eases" and new ones jumping up all the time. That's a myth put together by those who have other interests. There are probably only a dozen or so basic reasons why bodies get into trouble with "germs" or other harmful agents. This is proven by practice in approaching body problems very calmly and very basically. Please know, you can understand what the problem really is. You have not been forgotten. The Creator has provided for you. What remains is, learning to understand how to use our herbal gifts.

Regardless of what kind of "dis-ease" name has been put upon what the person is suffering from, look at the following circumstances that could be causing the problem. Look for what natural function(s) has or have been repressed or, in some way, unfavorably altered. Once this is recognized, choose the herb or herbs which resolve what is, in fact, the true malfunction. Then health will return and "dis-ease" will go away.

You'll probably find something on this list at fault for whatever is bothering you in the way of a physical problem. Determine the herb(s) which work(s) in those areas and begin using what is needed. If improvement does not occur, then use more of the herb(s) or increase the frequency of use or both. If a problem gets worse when you use herb(s) and you have taken enough, often enough and long enough to correct what you want, by all means change the herb(s) you take. Reaffirm your ideals, work toward them and practice your faith. Succeed!
